About the job

Direct Support Professional – Seven Hills Foundation – Crotched Mountain School Greenfield, NH | Full-Time | $20.50/hour ($22.50/hour for a lead role with experience)

Imagine a job where you don’t just go to work… you change lives.

You will walk into a place where every day is different, every small win is a big celebration, and every moment matters. You will be the reason a student learns a new skill for the first time. You will be the calm in someone’s storm. You will help create a space where students feel safe, seen, and capable of more than they ever thought possible.

About Crotched Mountain School…

Nestled in the beautiful Monadnock region of New Hampshire, Crotched Mountain School offers a therapeutic and adventure-based environment for learners. Our expansive campus features hiking trails, lakes, an Olympic-sized pool, a media center, a bowling alley, and a panoramic library — all designed to help students grow socially, academically, and emotionally.

Over the past three years, Seven Hills has been revitalizing this historic program: expanding services, welcoming new students, and building a passionate team of clinicians, educators, and caregivers who make extraordinary things possible for youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Direct Support Professional (aka: your daily impact)… • You will help students navigate their day—from morning routines to bedtime wind-downs • You will support personal care and teach independent living skills that build confidence for life • You will bring Individualized Education and Life Plans (IEPs & ILPs) to life in meaningful, hands-on ways • You will encourage growth through patience, consistency, empathy, and teamwork • You will jump into activities that are therapeutic, fun, and sometimes a little messy • You will be part of a team that celebrates progress—no matter how small it may seem

What to Expect as a Direct Support Professional (the real, important part)…

This role is equal parts heartwarming, fast-paced, and “did that really just happen?” We believe in being upfront—this job will challenge you, grow you, and give you memories that will last a lifetime.

A lively environment: • Our campus and residential group homes can be busy and, yes, sometimes loud—think less “library vibes” and more “organized chaos with a purpose.” The good news? With training, practice, and a strong team beside you, you’ll find your rhythm and build confidence quickly.

Supporting complex behaviors: • Some students communicate through behaviors, which can include aggression or attempts to leave the area (we like to say they’re very motivated explorers). You’ll be trained in how to respond safely and effectively—and you’ll always have a team and a plan to back you up.

Working with a wide range of students: • Our students range from lightning fast elementary kiddos to teens and full-grown young adults. Some days may feel a bit like a workout (bonus: no gym membership required), so being physically engaged, aware, and ready to move is important.

Providing hands-on care (ADLs): • You’ll support students with personal care and daily living needs. It’s meaningful, essential work that requires compassion, respect, and the ability to improvise at times!

If you’re someone who can roll with the unexpected, celebrate small victories, and find joy in making a real difference, you’ll fit right in.

Your Schedule Options (Day Shifts Also Available as a School-Based Paraeducator)… • Front-End Week: Sunday (7am–10pm), Monday–Wednesday (2pm–10pm) • Back-End Week: Wednesday–Friday (2pm–10pm), Saturday (7am–10pm) • Overnights: • Sunday–Wednesday (9:45pm–7:15am) • Wednesday–Saturday (9:45pm–7:15am)

What You Bring to the Table… • You must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent) • Be comfortable supporting individuals with significant needs and behaviors • Be ready to stay active and lift up to 50 lbs

Plus ONE of the following: • 2 years (3,000 hours) of experience working with kids (or adults in a similar setting) OR… • Experience as a parent and caregiver of a child age 7+ OR… • An associate degree (or higher) with 12+ credits in a related field

Your Seven Hills Benefits… • $2,000 sign-on bonus • Health, dental, and vision insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield • 403(b) retirement plan with company match of 25-33% based on years of service • 3 weeks PTO (accrued), plus sick time and 3 personal days • Paid orientation and training • Student loan assistance & paid education (tuition, certifications, licensure, etc.) • PSLF-eligible nonprofit employer • EAP, FSA/HSA, life insurance, parental leave, home mortgage program, professional development assistance, referral program, legal insurance, pet insurance, and more

Why This Job Matters…

You will be part of something bigger than a paycheck... • You will help a child communicate when they’ve never had the tools. • You will support a young adult in gaining independence. • You will witness breakthroughs that stay with you forever. • And on the hardest days—you’ll know you showed up for someone who needed you.

If you’re looking for a job that challenges you, changes you, and truly makes a difference… this is it.
