Position Description The Rockingham County Conservation District (RCCD) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to assist with a variety of conservation projects during the summer of 2026. The ideal candidate is passionate about conservation, eager to learn new skills, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and enjoys a dynamic, hands-on work environment. Primary Responsibilities Monitoring conservation easements on farmland, forests, and wetlands using a GPS smartphone application to collect and note observations. Completing accurate and detailed monitoring reports from data collected in the field. Controlling invasive plant species through the application of low impact herbicides. Assisting with habitat restoration projects, including brush cutting and native plantings. Assisting with farm equipment rentals and educational workshops.
